Michael Evans and Associates Ltd is a highly professional team , which is able to mobilise its experience and resources in a prompt and efficient manner to the benefit of its clients.

Each project is controlled under the close supervision of a qualified Engineer.

We will operate as part of a Project Team, as lead Consultant or as Project Managers. In the latter instances we can recommend suitably qualified professionals to complement ourselves.

Design Aims

Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF)

We have an engineer with a PhD in engineering specialising in the structural design of ICF – Insulated Concrete Formwork and using our expertise in certain cases we are able to design in steel fibres in place of the conventional steel bar reinforcement.

ICF is an insulated concrete system of building originating in Germany and is rapidly becoming very popular in the UK due to its environmental benefits and also the speed of its build.

The blocks are hollow and usually produced from EPS polystyrene which is fire resistant these are locked together similar to Lego and then the hollow is pumped with concrete to form the structural walls of buildings.

After the concrete has hardened the polystyrene is left in situ to act as insulation and it also gives excellent acoustics performance.

Computer Aided Design

The Practice uses the latest computers and software to enhance our design, drafting and word processing skills.

Currently we operate:

Autocad 2008 - a dimensional drafting, detailing package and 2 proprietary structural analysis packages - Masterseries and RAM, both of these have 3 dimensional capabilities and include steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry design.

Various written in-house programmes to control project costs and contract expenditure.
